For all those traditional darkroom enthusiasts who are now in the process of converting to the digital iDarkroom environment, I thought you might enjoy this post. At one point in my career, I owned several camera shops. Selling darkroom equipment and processing chemicals was a big part of my business. This is a recreation of an advertisement I once ran in the local newspaper to grab the attention of area darkroom aficionados.
I was surprised how many photographers came to the store or called in to learn more about this amazing product. (Many wanted to know just what would happen if the Instant Darkroom Bulb was used outdoors.) I imagine today's "truth in advertising" laws would have something to say about this particular ad. But at the time it was very funny and was talked about for months afterward.
Times have changed and creating a totally dark room or handling/breathing photographic chemistry is one less headache (sometimes literally) facing digital photographers today.
And that's a good thing.
